Day in the Life
Are you thinking about university but not sure what to expect? Join us for this year’s Day in the Life at McMaster University on March 12, 2025!
The Black Student Success Centre (BSSC) at McMaster University is honoured to invite Black-identifying high school students to our second annual BSSC: Day In The Life Event, an immersive opportunity designed to help students experience university life first-hand.
This free in-person event is open to all Black-identifying Grade 11 and 12 students across Ontario, offering a day filled with interactive experiences, learning opportunities, and community-building. During this event, you will get the chance to:
- Connect with current Black undergraduate students who will share their experiences and insights into university life.
- Tour McMaster’s campus and discover key resources that support students’ success.
- Engage in a university-style lecture and tutorial led by McMaster Black professors.
- Explore academic pathways through program selection, leadership, and post-secondary success workshops.

Science Lab & Facilities Tour

Description: These 70-minute tours will be led by current undergraduate students from a wide range of science programs and will highlight the labs, facilities and services used by students in Level I Science programs, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Integrated Science, Kinesiology, and more. Our student guides will share their personal experience in these facilities and ensure all your questions are answered. March Break Tours will depart from the Office of the Associate Dean of Science (Undergraduate Studies), Burke Science Building (BSB), Main Lobby at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm.

Biology Greenhouse

Description: McMaster Science is home to a Greenhouse housing a richly diverse collection of live plants encompassing more than 217 species in 150 genera from over 77 plant families. The plant collection contains bamboo, insect-eating cobra plants, a chocolate tree, a coffee tree, a palm tree, sugarcane, cycads, bananas, and more.
