For GPS purposes please use the intersection of Sterling St. & Forsyth Ave (185 Sterling Street, Hamilton, ON) as coordinates to guide you to the campus entrance. We highly recommend using the Sterling Street entrance as it is closest to the campus tour meeting location.

  • From Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge Take Highway 401 to Highway 6 South. From Highway 6, exit on Highway 403 toward Hamilton, once in Hamilton, take the Main Street West (Exit 69A) off ramp. At the traffic signal at the top of the ramp, turn left onto Main Street and turn immediately right (before Husky gas station) onto Newton Avenue. As this street crosses King Street it becomes Sterling Street. Proceed up Sterling Street onto the McMaster campus. See parking details above.
  • From the south Cambridge area, take Highway 8 to Hamilton. Proceed through Dundas along King Street, which becomes Cootes Drive. Turn left on Main Street West. Proceed along Main Street and turn left on Dalewood Ave. Turn left on Sterling Street and proceed to the McMaster Campus. See parking details above.
  • From Toronto, Oakville, Burlington Travel westbound on the QEW or Highway 407. In Burlington, take Highway 403 West to Hamilton (Downtown), Brantford. Exit Highway 403 at the Main Street West (Exit 69A) off ramp. At the traffic signal at the top of the ramp, turn left onto Main Street and turn immediately right (before Husky gas station) onto Newton Avenue. As this street crosses King Street it becomes Sterling Street. Proceed up Sterling Street onto the McMaster campus. See parking details above.
  • From Brantford and London Travel on Highway 403 to the Aberdeen Avenue exit. Turn left at the first traffic light and proceed along Longwood Road, then turn left onto Main Street West. Turn right onto Newton Avenue (before Husky gas station). As this street crosses King Street it becomes Sterling Street. Proceed up Sterling Street onto the McMaster campus.   • From Toronto Airport (YYZ – Lester B. Pearson International) Exit the airport onto Highway 427 South. Exit Highway 427 onto the QEW toward Hamilton. Follow detailed directions for coming from Toronto (on left).
  • From Hamilton Airport (YHM – John C. Munro International) Exit the airport onto Highway 6 north, which connects to Highway 403. Take Highway 403 eastbound (toward Toronto), and exit as described in the directions for coming from Brantford (on left).
  • From the Niagara Peninsula Follow the QEW over the Burlington Skyway Bridge as though going to Toronto. Take Highway 403 toward Hamilton, exit the highway at the Main Street West (Exit 69A) off ramp. At the traffic signal at the top of the ramp, turn left onto Main Street and turn immediately right (before Husky gas station) onto Newton Avenue. As this street crosses King Street it becomes Sterling Street. Proceed up Sterling Street onto the McMaster campus. See parking details above.

Entrance: 

Enter campus at the Sterling Street & Forsyth Avenue Entrance (185 Sterling Street, Hamilton, ON). Do not use the Main Street West Entrance. 

Directions to Parking: 

  • After entering, turn RIGHT onto Stearn Drive.
  • Parking Lot B (ticketing system) is closest to our office. Check for availability.
  • If Lot B is full, proceed to park in Parking Lot G (HonkMobile App), located behind the Peter George Centre for Living and Learning. If Parking Lot G is full, proceed to park in Parking Lot H (HonkMobile App), located behind the outdoor track.

Parking & Payment: 

  • Visitor parking is first come, first served,
  • If you are in Parking Lot B, pull a ticket upon entering and pay when you leave at the exit gate.
  • If you are in Parking Lot G or H, you will need to pay using the HonkMobile App before leaving your car and heading towards our office.
    • Payment must be made through the HonkMobile App before leaving your car and heading towards our office.
    • Please note, for guests parking in Lot G and H, payment for parking through HonkMobile will require visitors to bring and use a cellular device with mobile data to make the payment. Failing to register your vehicle and make the required payment through HonkMobile in these lots may result in a parking ticket.

How it Works – HonkMobile 

HonkMobile registers your parking transactions with your license plate number, so you don’t need to display a parking receipt in your vehicle. The app sends your parking information to our parking enforcement officers (so they know you’ve paid).

  1. Download the HonkMobile app. Find it at honkmobile.com, Google Play or the App Store. 
  2. Set up your account. Conveniently store your vehicle and payment information. 
  3. Pay for parking at McMaster University quickly and easily!

The walk from these parking lots is approximately 5-10 minutes. Campus Tours start from the Student Recruitment Office in McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery (MCCD), 4130. 

From Lot G: 

  • Proceed East along Stearn Drive towards McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery. 
  • Follow Stearn Drive until you arrive at McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery. 
  • Enter the North doors for McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery. 
  • Take the silver elevators up to the 4th floor. 

From Lot H: 

  • Proceed South along Michell Crescent bordering the Athletics field. 
  • At the stop sign, cross the street (Stearn Drive). 
  • Turn left and head East along Stearn Drive towards McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery.
  • Follow Stearn Drive until you arrive at McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery. 
  • Enter the North doors for McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery. 
  • Take the silver elevators up to the 4th floor.
