- Apply online at the Ontario Universities Application Centre’s (OUAC) website and choose from a list of our open programs
- Include a valid and unique e-mail address that only you can access/use
- McMaster and many Ontario universities use email to send important information

- If you have reviewed our definition of a Mature Student and believe that it defines you and your prior academics, then you may apply to our available programs via the on-line 105 application via the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC)

- Check our Mosaic Applicant Portal for specific updates to your file or our Future Students Website for general updates
- McMaster will start sending offers within 4 to 5 weeks of receiving the necessary documentation for OUAC 105 programs that do not require a supplementary application

- Review the conditions of any offer(s) you receive (from McMaster or elsewhere)
- Visit Student Accessibility Services if you have questions about supports for students with disabilities
Application timelines
- Review Checklist Item
- Submit the document next to the line
- The document status will update from “required” to “completed” after it is processed by the Admissions team.
- Complete your supplementary application
- Supplementary application is completed outside of MOSAIC. The notation will be updated by end of March
- You will receive a confirmation number or email (vary depending on the supplementary application you completed) at the time of submission. That is your confirmation of a successful submission
- Once everything on the checklist is marked as completed, your file moves forward for an admission decision
- Wait for an offer decision
- From the time when your file is marked as completed, it could take the Admissions Committee up to four weeks to make a decision
- Review Checklist Items
- If you see “complete admission requirement”, click on the link to see your checklist
- Submit the document next to the line item (once it has been processed and approved, we will mark it as “completed”)
- Checklist complete
- Once everything on the checklist is marked as completed, your file moves forward for an admission decision
- Wait for an offer decision
- From the time when your file is marked as completed, it could take the Admissions Committee up to four weeks to make a decision
(by the deadline listed on your offer letter)
- Download your admission decision letter on McMaster’s Applicant Portal
- Decisions to programs not requiring a supplementary application are posted four to five weeks after your application’s requirements are marked as “completed”
- Accept your offer on OUAC by the deadline listed on your offer of admission letter (see OUAC video).
- Complete the online Residence Application (including deposit) by the deadline.

- Review our Undergraduate Calendar for an overview of courses in your first year (and beyond)
- Register (select classes, schedule, pay fees, setup email, etc.) as a new McMaster student
- Participate in summer orientations events offered by our Student Success Centre
- Receive Residence Building & Roommate allocation details from the Housing Office (if you applied to residence)
- Pay fees
- Submit financial aid applications
- Start classes and orient yourself to university life during Welcome Week
